This is a sad day...

I come from a family with many devout Mormons and most have them treated others the way they would like to be treated. There are many in my family that have given me a very positive glimpse into the church, unfortunately, this is just too far...this comes from the church's 1st Presidency. In other words, the top 3 leaders of the church and this is in regards to the California proposed amendment to the state constitution in regards to the definition of marriage.

We ask that you do all you can to support the proposed constitutional amendment by donating of your means and time to assure that marriage in California is legally defined as being between a man and a woman. Our best efforts are required to preserve the sacred institution of marriage.

I had always heard that the church does not involve itself in politics, apparently things have changed because this is pretty ridiculous. Sorry but I think this is the last nail in the coffin for me, I'm done.
