This is too funny...

I'm torn...part of me says let them go, but in all honestly that's giving them the easy way out.  We dealt with W. for 8 years, I think the cry babies can survive Obama for 8.

Why conservatives are full of shit...

Fifty years of American history have shown that even the party that traditionally advocates small government on the campaign trail opts for big government when it gets into power. The rhetoric of small government has helped Republicans attract some support in the past, but it is hard to take such rhetoric seriously given the historical record -- and it is a now a question whether this rhetoric is even appealing since many Americans want government to help them cope with the current crisis.

More of the same from the right...

As summed up by Paul Begala, former VP Dick Cheney believes the government has the power to revoke the First and Fourth Amendments, as well as practice torture and other such atrocities and attacks on civil liberties, but when it comes to improving education, energy independence, or improving healthcare...well that's just outside the limits of what the government's powers are. Once again, I just don't see how anyone can understand, let alone agree with this sort of thinking. Its this type of thinking that got us to where we are today.

Take time to read the Full Story. Its a good analysis by Paul Begala of CNN.

My two-year-old daughter has hit the Republican phase of her life: her two favorite words are "mine" and "no!"

Ha Ha! Now that's funny...

The Headline says it all, "Porn in the USA: Conservatives Are Biggest Consumers". How much more do we need to prove that Conservativism is a failed ideology? Just another nail in the coffin for the party of Do As I say, Not As I do.

Reflections

What an amazing day.  History was truly made today as we, as a nation, witnessed the first ever African-American president take the oath of office.  This is by far one of the proudest days of my life.  I am so proud of my fellow countrymen and I feel an immense amount of hope for our future as a country as I see evidence that the masses are slowly transforming and we as an American people are changing our focus from ourselves to the greater sense of worth that resides in our community.  I am so proud to be able to tell my children and grandchildren about this day in history and how momentous the event truly was.  History has been made, and we are so fortunate to have been witnesses to something that will never be duplicated in history again.  There will never be another first African-American president of the United States again.  So as we return to our normal lives again tomorrow, at least we can look back on this day as the day that was so almost near perfect, a day where politics were put aside and we united as a country around a man who so symbolically represents this country's ability to move past so many of the skeletons it has hidden in its closet for so long.

Conservativism...

I've come to terms with the fact that I will never understand it.
